A Beacon of Charity and Sisterhood on the Banks of the Ohio River
Nestled in the heart of the charming village of Proctorville, Ohio, along the tranquil Ohio River, thrives the Teresa Chapter #257 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Since its chartering in 1907 by the Grand Chapter of Ohio, our chapter has illuminated the community with its unwavering commitment to charity, sisterhood, and the values of the Eastern Star.
A Tradition of Inclusivity and Shared Purpose
Founded in 1850, the Order of the Eastern Star welcomes both men and women of all theistic beliefs who are 18 years or older. While originally restricted to those with specific familial ties to Freemasons, our chapter today proudly embraces a more inclusive membership, extending our arms to Job's Daughters, Rainbow Girls, and other qualified individuals who resonate with our mission.
Guiding Principles and Enduring Service
Grounded in the teachings of the Bible, the Eastern Star emphasizes values like faith, hope, charity, and sisterhood. These principles guide our every action, inspiring us to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
Throughout the year, the Teresa Chapter actively engages in numerous charitable endeavors, leaving a trail of kindness and support across the community. We regularly lend a helping hand to organizations like:
Beyond Service, a Celebration of Community
But our endeavors extend far beyond service. We cherish the spirit of fellowship and camaraderie that binds us together. From whipping up batches of the country's best homemade apple butter and delectable chocolate Easter eggs to lively discussions on our Bulletin Board Forum, we cultivate a space where laughter, friendship, and a shared sense of purpose flourish.
We warmly invite all Eastern Star members in Proctorville to join us in our meaningful journey. Together, let us continue to shine the light of the Eastern Star, making our community a brighter and more compassionate place.
We look forward to welcoming you with open arms and hearts!
Since our inception in 1907, Teresa Chapter #257 has been a pillar in Proctorville, organizing annual community events and bringing people together.
Our chapter prides itself on being a welcoming space for all, fostering a diverse and supportive environment. Regular meetups, social gatherings, and collaborative projects celebrate our bond as members.
We are committed to uplifting our community through initiatives reflecting our core values of charity, truth, and loving-kindness.
